Since its fromation in 1992, Hull-based Drum Technology has become established as a leading specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of high quality drum reconditioning systems. Today the company supplies the needs of clients throughout the world, and has gained an impressive reputation for quality service and technical expertise.
Drum Technology has the skills and resources to produce reconditioning systems precisely suited to the needs of its clients – form simple 20 – drum per hour labour intensive plants to fully automated systems capable of processing more that 100 drums every hour. The benefits of drum reconditioning are extensive, and Drumtech`s systems are increasingly being adopted by companies seeking a more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly option. In addition to reconditioning systems, Drumtech manufactures automated handling equipmentfor loading drums and other containers. Such equipment is produced in accordance with the COSSH regulations in order to reduce operator exposure and fatigue.
Drumtech`s steel drum reconditioning systems are simple to operate, outstandingly cost-effective and capable of undertaking every aspect of the conditioning process; from the pre-washing of drums to flush out the bulk of contaminates or heavy residue, through to de-denting, testing and painting. Such systems can be established within a company`s existing spare buildings or erected on greenfields sites. Their uses brings major savings, for reconditional drums cost 40% less than new ones, and drums can usually be recycled up to ten times before ending their useful life.
Over recent year economic and environmental considerations have brought an increasing demand for the re-use or recycling of plastic containers. Drumtech has responded to this challenge by developing a system capable of handling plastic containers from 25 litres up to 210 litres and above, and preparing them for re-use or disposal. The modular system features a flushing machine for washing those containers which can be re-used, and can include a shredding system to provide for safe disposal of the others as landfill. A granulator can also be incorporated, enabling a proportion of the shredded plastic to be recovered for re-processing into a new moulded product. Bespoke applications for unusual containers are a company speciality.
Drumtech has dev eloped an advanced modular system which prepares IBC containers for re-use. This system is adaptable to individual requirements, and be extended as demand increases. The system, which can be automated to suit the client`s production operations, comprises seperate modules to flush and contain contaminants, including pre-drainage facilities, then to power-wash the containers – using optional detergent injection – and give a final rinse if necessary. A dryingmodule completes the process; drying by means of a syphon system and hot-air blowers. A leak testing station can also be added to the system, if such tests are required.
At Drumtech we specialise in cleaning and reconditioning systems for all types of steel and plastic drums and containers. We offer the following products as stand-alone machines or in combinations to form comprehensive plant systems.
