The Challenger Drumtech Airless Shot Blast Machine is fully automatic and will process 100 drums per hour dependent on the surface finish required. The machine does not use compressed air in the blasting process with the shot being recirculated via a feed screw from the base of the machine and a bucket elevator to the distribution hopper above the shot cabinet.
The shot is fed by two rotating manganese steel wheels, which are patterned to cover the surface of the drum and which is rotating in the fully enclosed cabinet. Doors at either side only open when the basting is complete to allow drums to enter and exit the machine automatically. The controls are fully interlocked for safety, the starting operation is fully sequenced and ammeters are provided on the panel to monitor shot delivery to each wheel.
